Her loss was compounded by the chaos at home due to an alcoholic parent, divorce and intense bullying at school. God, who had always been present in her life, became her anchor. As a young adult hoping to gain insight, Paulina enrolled at a state university as a Psychology major. She eventually earned her Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and is registered with the Board of Behavioral Science as an LPC Intern. She currently conducts "Healing From Loss" workshops. Between 1996 and 2007, Paulina experienced heart-wrenching loss again, this time resulting from the death of several extended family members.
