Once You Pass the Gates You Are Someone Else. An ethnographic journey into the lives of former inmates

What does release from prison mean to you?   It’s as if I am reborn. I don’t know. I don’t have words to express it. I’ve waited for this for so long. I don’t know and I hope, I don’t hope, I will surely change and I am changed from the moment I walk out the prison gate, I will leave out all my slangs, all my expressions from here, I leave them here, and outside I am somebody else (SG, before release).
