Rod has several Associated Press and Regional Emmy Awards, and a National RTNDA Award for Best Newscast. He is also the author of the novel; "Moral Vengeance" Rod lives with his wife Ellen in Phoenix, Arizona. He has two daughters, Heather Haberer and Chelsea Raupers, a son-in-law Joe Raupers and granddaughter Evelyn Raupers.
