About the Author Arthur Floyd Gottfredson (May 5, 1905 - July 22, 1986) was an American cartoonist best known for his work on the Mickey Mouse comic strip, with his work on Mickey Mouse having been compared to Carl Barks' on Donald Duck. He recieved a Disney Legends citation in 2003, two decades after his death, and was inducted into the Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2006. The classic "maestro" Romano Scarpa (1927-2005) has historically been the most popular Italian talent with American Disney comics readers, most well known for his work on the Mickey Mouse newspaper strip. Scarpa crafted legendary Italian Mickey epics like "Kali's Nail," "The Chirikawa Necklace," and "The Delta Dimension," all of which were later reprinted in the USA to great acclaim.
