Description This is a quick study for the beginning guitarist, it covers the basic elements of music which includes melody, harmony and rhythm. Traditional common practice techniques for both the right and left hand are taught with special care. The works of Carulli, Carcassi, Aquado, Sor and Tarrega are featured studies. About the author Born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, raised in Santa Fe, Ambrose started playing the guitar at age 10, inspired by his father, who also played guitar. Ambrose moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1961, to study Music Theory and ear training, along with regular curriculum at the University of New Mexico. He began teaching private guitar lessons in 1965 and later he was appointed to teach Beginning and Intermediate Classical Guitar on the Main Campus of the University of New Mexico Continuing Education Department. Ambrose and his son own and operate a guitar shop in Cedar Crest, New Mexico, where they offer instruction in a variety of guitar styles.
