Description Where we come from matters. How we are raised and what we have lived through defines aspects of attitudes and character, maybe as far reaching as goals and ambitions. But what of those with a troubled past or a troubled present? To the one who overcomes, it is strength. To another, it is their weakest link. Every day, we choose what defines us. But we don't get to choose all that comes to us Mary lived knowing where her roots went and kept that to herself. She was so secretive that even her own daughter could not guess the trouble she went through, or the remedy, or the scars. It would take a lifetime to figure her out and understand that there are some roots that are meant to be pulled, and others need to stay in deep dark places where only God can go and change what comes of it. One thing would certainly remain, the family tree shares the family roots.
