FROM THE AUTHOR: There is very little sports literature that talks in any detail specifically about water polo goalkeepers. In this book I have tried to present a short theoretical and practical demonstration of the goalkeeping technique. The most important exercises and drills are analytically described, logically ordered and accompanied by useful drawings and photographs. I believe this handbook will be a welcome tool in the work of coaches working across the range of age groups. Zoran Kacic, Author of Water Polo Goalkeeper. About the Author: Zoran Kacic played goalkeeper for the Yugoslavia senior national team in 105 games as well as in 55 games for junior national team. He participated at the Montreal Olympics in 1976, The World Championship in Cali in 1975, The Europe Championship in Wien in 1974, The Mediterranean and Balkan games and many other international tournaments. He was a member of the first Expert Council of the Croatian Water Polo Federation established in 1991. Additionally he has been a member of Croatian Water Polo National Team Committee since 1999 as an assistant coach of the national team participating in a number of major European and World events and for eight years he was close assistant to Ratko Rudic in which period Croatia acquired its greatest success: the gold medal at the Olympic Games in London 2012, gold medal at the World Championships in Melbourne 2007 and at the European Championships in Zagreb 2010. Zoran Kacic is also the author of the "Program for Youth Water polo Schools." He participated as a lecturer at many seminars for water polo coaches organized by national Water Polo Federations of Turkey, Iran, Greece, Portugal, England, Slovenia, Montenegro, USA, Italy, Serbia and Croatia.
