Description The evolution of the Bowery Boys has more twists and turns then a boxing match. In 1937, they started out as the Dead End Kids, a group of young hooligans from the slums of New York's East River, appearing in several films for Warner Brothers. A year later, Universal borrowed most of the group and cast them in films and serials, under the names of the Little Tough Guys and the Dead End Kids and the Little Tough Guys. In 1939, the group went to Monogram and became the East Side Kids. Then, in 1946, it happened. The East Side Kids were revamped and The Bowery Boys were born. In time, their films evolved into full comedies, transforming Leo Gorcey (Slip) and Huntz Hall (Sach) into a memorable comedy duo. To celebrate these long-running, popular film groups, "The Bowery Boys, The East Side Kids & The Dead End Kids Movie Poster Art Book" presents poster art--including movie posters, half-sheets, lobby cards, window cards or inserts-- from nearly 50 films starring The Dead End Kids, The Little Tough Guys, The East Side Kids or The Bowery Boys. Poster art is organized by year of release. A revised edition of "The Bowery Boys Movie Poster Book," poster art, in this edition, has been digitally improved for sharper reproductions. This book is intended to be a sample of the poster art used to promote many of the groups' films. It does not contain information about their films nor biographical data about each group nor the actors who were members of them. 50 Pages/Full Color on White paper
