Descriere

Echoes Along the Pecos River is a vivid history of five generations of the Babb family who ranched in West Texas. They survived it all through good times and bad, drought and loss, murder and danger, but always protective of their family and those dear to them. The story begins with my infamous great great grandfather who claims he killed 23 men but never went to jail for long. It includes my hardworking Christian grandmother who would lose three children, one who served and died in World War II, including his letters he wrote home. Throughout their lives there was love, laughter and always intrigue of some kind. The story includes my childhood memories, extraordinary tales full of adventure of all kinds: runaway horses, snakes and horned toads. About the Author: I was born in Del Rio, Texas but moved about every 3 years with my parents and sister while my father was in the Army. Our occasional visits to the West Texas ranches owned by my mother's relatives were always exciting. As I grew older I realized the stories and adventures i was told about some of the relatives needed to be passed on before they were lost. I am retired now and love gardening and fishing (but not wiggly worms), tennis, and volunteer work with troubled youth and low income families. Future goals includes finding or inventing a device that will help to quickly locate my glasses, my keys and the TV remote control.
