Description Costochondritis is a rare condition that I have which began in July, 2015. The condition is a result from having pneumonia in which the severe coughing created an ongoing cycle of inflammation in the chondrosternal joints (which are the joint that connect the ribs to the sternum in the middle of the chest). Costochondritis is very painful and is situated dangerously close to the heart which is very worrisome and stressful. To make matters worse, I was misdiagnosed several times and it took eight months and multiple tests before I knew what I had. This might sound unusual to not get answers but it's not, I hear these same stories every day. My book will seek to do two things: First, it will explain the condition and its symptoms, treatments, procedures and medication often prescribed. This part will be based on the top medical advisory sources such as the Mayo Clinic and American Family Physician, Web MD amongst others. Second, the book will examine what has and hasn't worked for me. I am not a medical doctor, but I will tell you my story and what I learned along the way. Everyone is different, but the more information you know, the more you know, the more treatment options will be available for you. "Costochondritis is not going to "go away" if you change your diet or take vitamins. Also, taking medication and/or cortisone injections for the rest of your life is also no solution. I believe there is a way to reduce inflammation and keep the pain away so don't fall into the autoimmune disease pitfall While Costochondritis is a nightmare, I believe I found a way to deal with it and finally be able to live a happy healthy life and you can too." - Sharon M. Fitzgerald I am a Costochondritis sufferer and in this book I will provide an overview of the condition based on some of the most reliable sources that I found. These sources include the Mayo Clinic, Web MD, American Family Physician, and Healthline amongst others. As you will note, I use endnotes citations t
