Description The 1960's was a difficult time to be an FBI agent and be assigned in the South, especially in Mississippi. In the beginning, agents were looked at as occupation troops. We worked six and a half days, investigating civil rights complains and identifying and interviewing members of the Ku Klux Klan. When I left Mississippi for Montana, Mississippi was the most integrated state in the nation. My next three years were spent on Indian Reservations. Never in my life had I experienced such brutality. It was the three most difficult years of my life, but I met some wonderful people in eastern Montana. I met a few jerks as well. When I retired I was in Billing, s Montana. Billings was a great place to live and t raise our kids. When I retired I asked Mary where she wanted to go. Her answer "Where it is warm. I was always warm in the South. So we took off for Atlanta. W stayed there for several years while I worked. Now we ahve a small cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. Life is good About the Author Born and raised in Idaho, Mr. Warberg graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in English. He taught high school English but stopped teaching after three years. After a time in graduate school at Utah State University he entered the FBI where he spent 25 years, most of which were spent in the South, primarily in MIssissippi. He transferred to Montana, spending three years on Indian Reservations. His last 7 years were in Billings, Montana. While there he received a Masters degree in Special Education, emotional disturbance option. He and his wife returned to the South, Atlanta, and he obtained a Master of Social Work at the University of Georgia. Following his graduation, he worked as a therapist for noted psychiatrist Gene G. Abel, M. D. for seven years. He then attended polygraph school and conducted polygraphs in Georgia, New York and Connecticut.
