Description Mankind's struggle during the World War II has not been totally understood yet by many scholars and the general public across the world. The book tells the story of ordinary men and women experiencing the horrible events and genocide during World War II. There were two kinds of human hearts in the evil time: the good heart to save an innocent life from death because of religion or race by risking his/her own life and the evil man with a corrupted heart and poisoned mind with the pleasure to kill another human being. The hope of survival in the evil time were the faith, spiritual guides, and the bond between the good hearts that could not be divided even with the threat of death. About the Author Walter is native of Poland. At age 14, he left his family farm, joining a surveying and engineering firm to become an engineering surveyor for the Polish Infrastructure Ministry. His job enabled him to travel across the country, where he worked with and explored the lives of ordinary people from factory workers to farmers as well as high level communist party officials and university educators. As he witnessed the socialist/communist system shape humans into classes, not individuals, he noted the behavior of the political system which served well the communist establishment. A keen observer with great interest in world affairs and captivated by Radio Free Europe and the Voice of America. For several years, he planned his escape from Poland. Walter, a legal immigrant, become a naturalized American citizen in 1985, and is practicing civil engineer. He risked his life to escape from communism, a compelling story, in its own right, of one man's struggle.
