180 Days of Writing for Sixth Grade (Grade 6): Practice, Assess, Diagnose, Paperback/Wendy Conklin
Descriere
Organized in two-week units that align with a single writing standard, 180 Days of Writing provides high-interest themes and allows students to interact with mentor texts during the first week of the unit, and apply their learning during the following week. Students get practice in all the steps of the writing process: prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing. With daily writing practice, students can gain confidence in their writing skills as they formulate their own opinions and learn to express them. Creative writing is also included, with narrative pieces and informative/explanatory writing assignments, helping students to find the joy in writing and strengthen language and grammar skills at the same time. Teachers can use daily practice activities as part of a classroom morning routine, at the beginning of each writing lesson, or as homework. Genre-specific rubrics and data-analysis tools provide authentic assessments that help teachers differentiate instruction. All activities are correlated to College and Career Readiness and other state standards. Help your students develop strong writing skills that will serve them throughout their school years and beyond. About Shell Education Rachelle Cracchiolo started the company with a friend and fellow teacher. Both were eager to share their ideas and passion for education with other classroom leaders. What began as a hobby, selling lesson plans to local stores, became a part-time job after a full day of teaching, and eventually blossomed into Teacher Created Materials. The story continued in 2004 with the launch of Shell Education and the introduction of professional resources and classroom application books designed to support Teacher Created Materials curriculum resources. Today, Teacher Created Materials and Shell Education are two of the most recognized names in educational publishing around the world.
