Traducere in limba engleza: Alistair Ian Blyth.     Putem asemana Bucovina unui pamant sfant: zeci de biserici, manastiri si schituri ne ies la tot pasul in cale: Voronet, Putna, Humor, Sucevita, Moldovita, Arbore, Bogdana, Patrauti, Balinesti, Probota, Dragomirna. Sunt celebre mai ales bisericile cu fresce exterioare, in inconfundabile nuante de albastru, rosu, galben si verde. E aproape imposibil sa nu ne prinda in vraja sa descantecul obcinelor unduitoare, sa nu ne farmece serpuirile curgatoare ale Bistritei si Moldovitei, sa nu ne intrige misterul ciudatelor forme de piatra de pe abrupturile Muntilor Caliman.         In nordul Romaniei se afla un colt de rai numit Bucovina. Este aproape imposibil sa ajungeti pe acest sfant pamant si sa nu intrati intr-una dintre bisericile ori manastirile care va ies la tot pasul in cale. Este aproape imposibil sa nu va prinda in vraja sa descantecul obcinelor unduitoare, sa nu va intrige misterul ciudatelor forme de piatra de pe abrupturile Muntilor Calimani, sa nu simtiti dorinta de a reveni in satele ei invaluite intr-o pitoreasca atmosfera arhaica...      Bukowina in the north of Romania there is a corner of paradise named Bukowina. lt is almost impossible to arrive in this holy land and not enter one of the churches that greet you at every step. It is almost impossible not to be bewitched by the spell of the rolling hills, not to be intrigued by the mystery of the strange rock formations on the heights of the Calimani Mountains, not to feel the desire to return to its villages that are swathed in a picturesque and archaic atmosphere...
