The mid-16th century south of France provides a tumultuous setting for Mosse's new series, which begins with a love story between a Catholic girl and a treasure-bestowed Huguenot during the Wars of Religion. The series is set to span three centuries from this point onwards, from the Carcassonne massacre to 1880s Cape Town.
