Suffocated by a lack of freedom in modern life, Martyn Murray sought an alternative. Restoring an old ketch, he cruised the Western Isles with an aim to sail to St Kilda: the remotest part of the British Isles. Considering the islanders' own freedom, restricted by absentee landlords and officialdom, he makes St Kilda through the teeth of a storm.
